mark thistlethwayte – chairman
Mark founded Buckland Capital Partners Ltd in 2008 after 22 years’ experience in asset-risk management, corporate finance and trading with James Capel, Cazenove and as Chief Executive of several LCF Rothschild businesses. His approach combines an entrepreneurial overlay with a long-term commitment to building genuinely sustainable businesses and communities.
Mark has considerable experience as both a passive and active investor in a wide range of businesses including start-ups.
paul lambert – finance director
Paul is a Chartered Accountant with significant corporate finance and financial modelling experience gained at Deloitte and KPMG. More recently he has been the director of finance of a substantial property-owning, and national property management, group of companies.
Paul is responsible for the head office accounting function and funding.
warren cann – director
Warren is a Fellow of the Securities Institute with significant experience in financial markets with prior roles at LCF Rothschild Group and Royal Bank of Canada. He joined Buckland Capital Partners Ltd as Investment Directors in 2008.
Warren is responsible for researching, establishing and managing new business and investment opportunities for the Group with, more recently, a particular focus on the energy generation and infrastructure sectors.
david harbord – managing director portchester equity ltd
David is an experienced CEO and Finance Director of both private equity backed and fully listed businesses. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 with Touche Ross in London and has held FD positions in ABF PLC, Flying Brands and the Condor Group. Prior to joining the Buckland group he was CEO and FD of Warehouse Express, the online photography business owned by Barclays Ventures.
David’s role as MD of Portchester Equity Ltd (PEL) is to grow the portfolio of business both through organic growth and acquisitions. He is responsible for finding new businesses and ensuring we maximise the potential of the businesses we own. He works with existing management teams, partnering to formulate strategy and plans to deliver improvements in each business. The most recent transaction involved the sale of Chevron Traffic Management, a company PEL worked with for almost 10 years, achieving an exit at over 10x the initial investment.
